How this example was done:
Here’s the video of how I did my page:
| First step – Background. Painted it all black. I love doing that.. not sure why. Next I put on strips of book pages with gel medium and scrubbed some color on with a sponge. Then I outlined each strip with a blue inktense pencil and set/smudged the ink with a wet brush.
|
| Second step – Figures. I really didn’t have a plan but I put on some yellow ovals and it gave me the idea to paint some little aliens on the pages. I painted my alien family with liquid acrylics, inktense pencils and neocolors. They are rough and painterly and just whimsical and fun. |

A Word from Tee:
We are a bit late today… not feeling well. That’s going to happen from time to time as we go through the year. Thank you so much for all the texts, emails and notes of concern that I’ve received this morning. You guys rock! If I didn’t respond to you yet – it’s because I was working on this page and video.
I’m teaching whimsical faces this weekend at Art CafĂ©. Let me know if you’d like to join me so I can put together a kit for you.

Cutest. Aliens. EVER!! Love all of your details, Tee! You really gave them some character. Great job! :)
