Bubbles Art Journal Page and Prompt

Art Journal Prompt:  Bubbles

Instructions:

Use bubbles on your page.. think bubble bath, bubbles underwater, bubbly drinks, bubbles floating in the breeze… what else can you think of for bubbles?

Example Page:

Bubble

How I created my page:

First step – Background.

  • Gesso
  • Blue Glaze – left over from today’s canvas – just to use it up
  • Neocolor – in turquoise, scribbled on and smoothed out with a baby wipe
  • Yellow Ochre Paint – scraped on with a card and them wiped off (mostly) with a baby wipe.  This blends it to a greenish color.. yummy.

Second step – Stamping.  rough circle stamp.. like coffee rings but much smaller

  • Bright Blue – used SU bright blue ink to stamp all over the page
  • Baby Wipe – to rub the stamped images almost away… they are just a stain now
  • Distress Ink – in brown and the same stamp.. along the bottom right and up the side

Third step – Acrylic Ink Brush.

  • E’s  - Did some loopy circles or “E’s”  in  my acrylic ink brush (black)
  • Blot – blotted those with a wipe

Fourth step – Zendoodle and journaling.  Started this with a  sharpie pen but it was too light so went back over it with my pit brush pen.

Fifth step – White.  I used a white paint pen to accent the stamps, add more bubbles in between and do more e’s.

A Word from Tee:

I have a new painting to share with you tomorrow.. and my son’s first to share today.  This is Joey’s FIRST abstract painting.  I guided him through the techniques but he did everything himself!

Cat-Scratch-for-Web

He has decided he will not sell his first, but he will have giclee prints available to anyone who wants to have his first painting for themselves.  You can click on the image to go to the page to get a copy of the painting.  All profits from his art work will go into his education savings account.
