Art Journal Prompt: Glaze Resist
Instructions:
Create a page using the Glaze Resist technique.
Example Page:
How this example was done:
This technique is so deceptively simple, it’s practically a crime!
| First step – Background. Select as many shades as you like and paint or scrape them over your page. Dry well before moving on.
I used three colors and a gift card to scrape the colors roughly over my page.
|
| Second step – Mask and Resist. Choose the color that will be the mask and paint it over the entire page. While it’s still wet, drip, dribble or drag glazing liquid over your page.
|
| Third step – Magic. Let the paint dry. While the glazing liquid is still wet, wipe it away. I used Baby wipes but you can use paper towels, a damp cloth – your elbow or whatever you have on hand.
|
| Fourth step – Clean up and Embellish. Continue wiping to remove any of the masking color from the colored areas. You can touch up the mask color if you like, but allow everything to dry before embellishing your page. You can doodle around your resist, collage over it… continue even and do another layer. It’s up to you from there. I stopped for today and may come back to do more to this page later.
