Art Journal Prompt: Letting Go
Instructions:
Don’t plan today… don’t think… just open yourself up and doodle whatever your fingers want to doodle. If Doodles are not your thing, then collage without planning… just put the strips of paper onto the page and see where it leads you.
Example Page:
How this example was done:
Here’s the video of my page:
| First step – Background. I put some gesso down over the masking tape and watercolor paper. then I added yellow, pink and orange neocolors; blending with a wet paper towel and then my fingers.
|
| Second step – Collage. I had this image of a fan from a local paper… so on it went. Did it fit with my plan. Nope.. I didn’t have a plan…. I just liked it. Then I used ore neocolor to blend the collage with the background.
|
| Third step – Doodle. I used my pitt brush pen to doodle all over the page…. too much by my usual standards… I like white space and I left NONE today. Just kept going.
|
| Fourth step – Color. I added color to the doodles with inktense pencils, neocolors and a white paint marker.
|
| Fifth step – Title. I collaged on another bit from another local paper for the title… and wrote in some journaling with an ink pen. It says: There is so much yet to do – jump in with both feet!
|
| Sixth step – Shadows. I used my watered down acrylic ink to add shadows to the collaged elements.
