Art Journal Prompt: Slider
Instructions:
Create a slider (large or small) on your page today and use it to share some mementos.Example Page:

How this example was done:
First step – Color. Because my page had one watercolor page and one paper bag… and I only needed to add color to one side.. I decided to do it on the watercolor side.
I used neocolors to add some color to my page.
|
Second step – Slider. Below are instructions for making a small slider, complete with it’s own pocket. In the video, I’m showing you another way to make them. You can use either method… they both work .. .however, the one with the pocket seems to catch less and slide better.
|
Third step – Collage. I had this image of a pen that was very similar to one that was in the gift shop…. I really wanted that pen too. *sigh* Anyway… I collaged that in with gel medium.
|
Fourth step – Sketch. They had the most interesting urns and vases in the house… some chipped out of stone or coquina.. and some that were traditional pottery. If I find the photos.. I’ll add them to this post.
So since those stand out in my memory, I sketched one for my page. Then I used watered down acrylic ink in a waterbrush to do a shadow on the pen and deepen the shadows and line son my sketch.
|
Fifth step – Journaling. Neocolor is also great because you can use just a regular old ink pen to write over it.

A Word from Tee:
It’s taking longer to get the online class videos ready than I thought it would. I having technical difficulties to be honest. My new computer apparently doesn’t have a sound card… so can’t record sound. (Really HP? Really?) I can do sound on the mini, even though it’s video doesn’t work… (hmmmm it’s also an HP) However, I realized I have to finish all the editing before I do the sound. Soooooo as soon as I finish editing the videos, I’ll convert them, put them on a thumbie, take them to the mini, record the voice overs, save ‘em back to the thumbie and bring them back here for finalizing and then uploading. Whew… makes me tired just thinking about it! LOLHowever, do you want to see a sneak peek of the Rustic Journals that I’ll be showing you how to make in the class????

Aren’t they too stinkin’ cute??? the copper one glistens in the light and looks like well loved leather.

Just stopping by Tee to check in. I love the slider idea. Took an online free class and they did several pockets and cool things too. I guess I like those because of my past mini-book days.

I did the slider and I love it! I'll probably be using it again.
