Art Journal Prompt: SoTT Technology
Instructions:
Sign of the Times: Technology. Show something about today’s technology and how it’s impacted you in your page today.
Example Page:
How this example was done:
Here’s the video of how I did my page:
| First step – Background.
|
| Second step – Painted Elements. The magazine title didn’t have enough white space to be a rectangle --- but we can fix that. I painted a white rectangle around the title and then extended the gray at the lower corner to be another layered rectangle. Then I outlined them with my dip pen and black ink.
|
| Third step – Shadows. Tina said yesterday that she was having a tough time with shading and shadows --- so the video has a section on doing those!!
|
| Fourth step – Journaling. I discovered that my gel pen works just great over neocolor and gesso on watercolor paper.. but stinks over the same mediums on paper bag. hmmmm.
|
Supplies used today:
- masking tape
- pitt artist pens
- dip pen nibs
- acrylic ink
- waterbrush
- you can never have too many of these!
- neocolor II water-soluble crayons
- gesso
- gel medium

Hi! I'm new to your blog and new to your you tube channel. I love your work and I enjoyed your explanation of shadowing in this video.
ReplyDeleteYou can hide this next part if you wish.....but it's the teacher in me....sorry....you might want to correct the spelling of "boundaries" on this page.
Take care. I look forward to seeing more of your wonderful work.

Love the use of white space on this page, and the way you go from lighter to darker pink.
