Art Journal Prompt: No Reason
Instructions:
Create a page today that combines several techniques.. They don’t have to match.. if fact, it’s better if they don’t – there’s no rhyme or reason to it.. just do it. Sooo make a page for No Reason today.Example Page:
No Reason : Original Art © Teressa Thompson purchase print in shop
How I created my page:
Here’s the video of how I did my page:No step by steps today since I modified a lesson from the book!
Supplies used today:
Tee’s opinion of Surface Treatment Workshop:
Ok… something about this book just gets me. It started with that incredible cover.. but then.. well.. it’s all the goodness inside. I’ve read this book cover to cover and flipped through it several times. I LOVE IT!The layout is great, it names the technique, has great images and instructions on how to do it and then gives you examples that use the technique. It doesn’t stop there though.. it tells you exactly what they did on each example. That’s sweeeeeet!
Through out the book are small gallery sections that show finished works that used the techniques covered prior to the gallery. That too tells you the primary techniques used to create the paintings.
Then at the end are a few projects that walk you through combining the techniques to create interesting and cool works of art. I used one of those lessons today.. modified it and made it my own.
Did this book have all new material for me? No.. but it WILL be a huge resource for me. I think this book has something for the novice and advanced artist!

Book Giveaway!!!!
Yep.. I do have a copy to give to one lucky reader. I know.. I know! Woohoo and confetti and all the goodness that I can muster! You are going to love this book! I’ll be drawing a winner on May 23rd… Best of luck!So.. here’s all you have to do to be in the drawing to win:

ReplyDeleteThat book looks very interesting! I've been browsing through the Look Inside and I think I need to add it to my wishlist.
ReplyDeleteAs well as general inspiration, I so often get great ideas from your posts and videos. Today, it was two "oh, of course!" moments - I love the simplicity of that torn paper stencil, and using a piece of 'retired' bubble mailer for the bubble wrap printing looks a lot easier than dealing with loose floppy pieces of bubble wrap.
Just popping back to say that I have posted about the giveaway on my blog here.

I need to set up a space to do pages daily with supplies around, maybe on my covered patio that can stay there. Thanks for the the inspiration.
