Art Journal Prompt: Character
Instructions:
Character can be about someone’s personality but today it’s about the things that something look unique. The laugh lines and crow’s feet that mark out the lifetime of a person or the odd and interesting parts of a thing that make it stand out.
What do you see around you that has character?

How I created my page:
My character came out when I was visiting Sam’s this weekend. Meet Tony. He works there and he just had such an interesting face. He said it was ok for me to sketch him so I set out to capture some of the things that made him stand out to me.
| First step – Circles. I painted those first with black neocolor and a waterbrush. Last time I was at Sam’s I’d told someone I almost sketched the giant package of toilet paper in a person’s cart … so that’s where I started today. LOL.
|
| Second step – Scribble. I did a scribble of orange color and set it with the waterbrush because I didn’t know where I wanted to go from there.
|
| Third step – Tony
|
| Fourth step – Background
