How I created my page:

I’m testing out a Snappy Li’l Journal made with scrapbooking paper.  It took all these layers VERY well with no curling at all.  Wow.  I’m going to make a lot more of these and put them in the shop.

First step – Background

  • Gesso
  • Collage – I used bits from Morgan’s stash and some of my own stuff
  • Scribbled Color – I scribbled on neocolor all over the pageCollage-scribble

Second step – Blend.  I blended the color with a wet brush and dabbed with a napkin to pick some up.Blend

Third step – Layers.

  • Doodle – drew a couple things on the pages
  • Write – still with the fat stubby pencil
  • Toned – did a glaze in beige and yellow ocher (thin paint) over the whole thing.doodled-and-toned

Fourth step – Encroaching Stencils

Fifth step – Outline. I used a pitt pen to outline the stencils and I was NOT careful in the process.  Sloppy was good.

Dark – I decided that some darkness was needed so did dark gray lines in the spaces around the stencils and used the pit pen to draw circles over and between the lines.

A Word from Tee:

I’m adding a slideshow of student’s journals to the site.  It’s so exciting to see you guys going crazy with making these journals.  They are so fun and so fast… it’s like a fever!
