Grid Prompt Page and Book Giveaway

gridPolaroid

Art Journal Prompt:  My Day Grid

Instructions:

Divide your page into a grid and document your day… or several days in the spaces.

This prompt fits so well because it was in my list that I’d written in December and is also in the book we are giving away today~~~

Example Page:

Grid

How I created my page:

I chose to document a single day… today.. June 15th.  A very busy day for me.  Now I’m doing this from one of the “Try This” prompts in Cathy Johnson’s Artist’s Journal Workshop book.  Cathy prefers watercolors and pens for most of her journal pages so I’m limiting myself to these supplies today.  Scroll down for the book giveaway.

First step – Grid.  Divide the page into a grid of .. “equal” squares.  You can see that mind grid was not perfect so put that ruler away!!!

Second step – Sketch, Collage, paint.. whatever you want in the squares.  I chose to do watercolor sketches to follow along with Cathy’s style.  Not a big stretch since I’ve been doing more of that in the last month anyway.

The difference for me is that this time I took only my water color travel palette.  I know.. NO neocolor for me today!  LOL  don’t faint or anything!

Third step – Title.  I used a white crayon to do a resist over the letters of my title.  (Also for the stars, the letters on my phone screen and on the hair color bottle)title

Here’s the individual parts of my day – I did the throughout the day:

Grid8
Grid9I have not done this one yet… I will though.. if the stars are visible through the smoke

  40. What a great prompt! As I have just made a commitment to sketching as much as I possibly can in the next while that's a great start... As for Cathy Johnson's book - would love a chance to win it. I "met" her as admin for an Art Marketing group and really liked her, long before I realised who she was - great lady, generous soul, very good teacher. Hmmm... doesn't all that apply to you too Tee?

  41. Yet another great page and prompt.
I linked to your give away on my blog.
I don't have Twitter so if I say "Tweet Tweet Tee" right here does that count as an entry?
And I don't have Facebook so now I'm just depressed. Can I earn another entry for being terribly depressed?
Have a great night honey. :-)
