Art Journal Prompt: 2 Minutes
Art your day in a series of 2 minute sketches.
I’ve talked to a few people lately who don’t have time to art. Lots of things can get in the way of playing.. but you don’t need a hour or even half that to still art. This exercise was fun.. I didn’t worry about materials… this was done on super thin writing journal paper with a ball point pen and watercolor.
What can you art in 2 minutes?
How I created my page:
All this in between doing 5 journal pages in other journals. I told you my Sunday was fun!
First step – Coffee. It’s the first step to most days~ This is my ceramic cup and I love it. It has a silicone lid and I make coffee at home. NO $4 coffee for me.
Second step – Breakfast. Not immediately after coffee but not long. This was my Mom’s favorite breakfast and quickly became mine. It’s an egg over hash browns with onions and green onions from my garden.
Third step – Snack. Morgan got hungry so I made her toast with peanut butter. I didn’t eat this one.. but it got on my fingers so it was memorable for my day.
Fourth step – Summer Treat. This is my cup from Kangaroo. They sold these to benefit military families and you can refill them until September with any cold beverage.. for FREE. So this is my summer treat… Tea, Soda, Gatorade and the kids love the frozen beverages.
Fifth step – Catching up Online. Sunday is usually my day off, but I spent time online this time… talking to people… and catching up on email.
Sixth step – Lunch. A favorite of my daughter.. mac n cheese and hot dogs. Served mine in my favorite bowl.. one I threw on the pottery wheel. Most of my pottery has been broken or lost over the years, but this bowl is still hanging around.. oh and my oatmeal bowl.
Seventh step – Arting the Day Away. I spent the day mostly arting with Morgan.
Eighth step – Shows. I watched Food Network Star with my family.. we love that show.. and since I’d already arted a lot of food on this page, I decided to just write in the name.
I added the additional lines to make thick parts on the letters as I drew them in. Remember, lettering like this is drawing.. not writing. Slow down a bit.
Ninth step – Dinner. I made dinner out of the things I could find in the kitchen.
