Art Prompt: Habitat
Instructions:
Show us a habitat today… animal habitat in the wild, the housing development down the street or something cool at the Zoo.
Example Page:
How I created my page:
I started this sketch in pencil on the 18th.. but due to illness was not able to finish it till this morning. It’s a couple of apartment buildings down near the beach.. and an outbuilding behind the green one.
| First step – Pencil Sketch. I roughed in the shape of the buildings while on site.
|
| Second step – Color
The good thing about these pens is that they are waterproof.. yep, I can draw with the pen and then paint over them.. AND they are refillable. Sweet.
|
| Third step – Journaling Block
|

Supplies Used Today:
- waterbrush
- I’ve worn mine out.. time to get a new one
- artists' watercolor field box set
- neocolor II water-soluble crayons
A Word from Tee:
I’ve been ill.. no I can’t tell you what the problem is because I can’t go to the doctor yet. It is getting better and I’m so thankful for that. Maybe I picked up a bug on my virtual vacation. *wink*
Anyway… we are still going to move on in that trip.. and I have a fun little project planned for New Orleans. Where did you all go what did you work on while I was away.. falling down literally and figuratively?
I'm going on a real vacation in about 2 weeks and I can't wait to do some quick sketches. Love this pic!
ReplyDeleteI'm leaving on a cruise soon. Want to do sketching with pen and ink and the neocolors (which I'm experimenting with.) Thanks for the idea of picking up the color off the crayon with the waterbrush. I'm also going to try the latest idea from Millande that she showed on her breakfast video....watered down ink in one of my waterbrushes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this post.
I love the thermometer reading in the little box!
ReplyDeleteGreat page and wonderful colors.
ReplyDeleteHey, Tee. I love what you did with your habitat page. I was wondering...I've noticed the lines on your journal pages before...what kind of paper are you doing your journal pages on. I like that I can see the lines through the art work. I have a composition book and wondered if that paper would hold up for an art journal.
ReplyDeletePS...continue to get better! Recover completely soon!
